SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The Wal£ham School Committee met on Thursday 'evening-; present — Messrs Sim (chairman), Wa-aight, -Gow, Taylor, Ditfort, Clifford, Brown and Joll. The head-master reported that the average attendance for. the past month had -been 400, the roll number being SOl. The annual examination report was received. It stated that "the great body of the work is in all cases entitled to an appreciative judgment." The report was considered satisfactory, and.ic was resolved that the head-master and staff should be congratulated on the results of their; year's Avork. Messrs Wraight and . Gow, the Visiting Committee, recommended j a few improvements to the school grounds and fences, and it was resolved that the recommendations should be carried into effect. Mrs R. _M. 'Taylor and Miss' May ! Loe reported that they had inspected the needle-work at the school, and stated that it Avas very satisfactory. It Avas resolved that the thanks of the committee should be conveyed to Mrs Taylolr and Miss Loe. Messrs BroAvn and Taylor Avere appointed visitors. Accounts amounting to £3 Is 3d were .'passed.
