[Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND, Sept. 22. . The Secretary of the Auckland and Taranaki Eailway League has received the following telegram, in reply to a request asking the Hon A. J. Cadinan to attend a meeting of Auckland and Taranaki members :— " Until it can be clearly proved that the central line will provide the most settlement I shall adhere to my present opinion in favour of the Stratford route. Outside this I cannot see how the central route will improve the present communication between Taranaki and Auckland."
