CYCLING.

A meeting of the committee of the Christchurch Cycling Club was held last evening; present — Messrs W. E. Thompson (chairman), Q. Harris, A. T. Washer C. Hulaton, T. Clarkson and J. H. Tompkins. Mr Cole wrote, stating that Mrs Cole would again provide refreshments for officials and competitors in connection with the hill-climbing competition, as had been done last week. Dr Palmer wrote, accepting office as a vice-president of the club: The Chairman reported on the conference which had been held betw.een representatives -of the Christchurch and Pioneer Clubs. The Invercargill Cycling Club wrote, asking the Club to support its application for the League championships. The letter v:as received. The Masseyflarris Club wrote, asking for copies of the programme of the club's race meeting as soon as it was drawn up. A circular was read from the League of Wheelmen asking if the Club would be favourable to paying: a portion of the expenses of an Australian team which would tour the colony in February. It was decided to reply that the club would be willing to bear its share of the expense of bringing Walne, the Australasian champion, over. The preliminary programme for the club's race meeting to be held on Dec. 16 and 17 was drawn up. The Secretary was instructed to have a copy printed in order to be passed at the next; meeting of the committee. The principal events decided upon were a Wheel Eace, of 75 soys ; the Five-mile Championship of Canterbury, and the "Cyclist" Challenge Shield Eace.

Messrs D. M'Millan, A. C. Prihgle and Captain Willis arrived by the express last night. Mr P. Hercus was a passenger for Wellington by the Mararoa.
