'The American visible supply of wheat is 15,376,000 bushels. At the wool sales there is keen competition, and prices have a hardening tendency. SYDNEY, Sept. 22. Potatoes are still hardening. New Zealand £7 10s. Prime New Zealand oats are in demand at 2s 7d.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London office, under date Sept. 20 :. — The wool sales opened with an indifferent selection, a large attendance of buyers, and animated competition. As compared with closing rates of last series, -prices of merino wools in general, and fine cross-bred are higher by 5 per cent. . For the bulk of coarse cross-bred, any change in prices is in favour of buyers. English and German buyers are the principal operators.
