FORTY THOUSAND PEOPLE HOMELESS. United Press Association —By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, Sept. 15. A Router's despatch reports that by a great hurricane in Barbadoes, 40,000 people were rendered homeless and 200 killed. The damage is estimated at a quarter of a million. In connection with the hurricane in the West Indies, ai tidal wave swept a portion of the island of St Lucia. The cocoa estates were devastated, and landslips were frequent. Three large vessels are ashore at Kingston, the capital of the island of St Vincent. —
