-♦ [Pbb Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Sept. 15. By it proclamation in the " Gazette," a fee of £2 for a dealer's license is re-imposed under the Anns Act, 1880, in tlie North Island. The Appeal Court is summoned for Oct. 17. A proclamation appears in the " Gazette" setting aside a large number of blocks in Canterbury , . and a. few in Auckland, Wellington, Nelson and Marlborough, for State forest purposes. Some alterations in the regulations under the Government Valuation Act are gazetted relative to fees for copies of valuation. C. H. Upham has been appointed health officer for Lyttelton, vice Dr Guthrie, resigned. The following corps have been formed into the second battalion of Auckland Rifle Volunteers, with headquarters at Paeroa: — Te Aroha Rifles, Nc. 1 Company ; Ohinenmri Rifles, No. 2 Company; Hauraki Rilles, No. 3 Company. Thej Ohinemuri Rillcs. Coromandel Rifles, Onehunga Rifles and Mawhcra Rifles (Nelson district) have been disbanded. St Vincent de Paul's Orphanage and Industrial School, South Dunedin, is officially approved under the Industrial Schools Act as a private school for the reception of female children of the Roman Catholic religion. Official correspondence relative to the commercial relations between the British Empire and Germany, is gazetted. The Public Trustee gives notice that he has taken possession of an ownerless section in Princes Street, Timaru.
