After a discussion, in the course of which {--.■■■ the Premier promised to have the details of ' the contingencies printed and placed in the /: lianris of membersj the motion was negatived * by 25 to 16. : A lengthy discussion ensued on the vote Miscellaneous services £18,753, with respect "to the item contingencies £9000, the details of which were read by the Minister in charge. On the item salary of the British Resident at Rarotonga., the Premier intimated that he r intended to ask the House to pay Mr Moss, ' the late Resident, his salary to the end of the present year. On. the motion of Mr George Hutchison, -tJic item compilation of the early history ■--' of the colony, £150, was reduced by £75. - The class was agreed to and progi ess reported. The House rose at 4.45 a.m.
