Feldwick, that the Goi Vvernment proposed to iunend the Defence v'Act, 1886, in the direction of bringing the ~: ' statute law into accord with the volunteer regulations. WATEB STTPPIiT. The Water Supply Act Amendment Bill was read a third time. V BANKRUPTCY. The Bankruptcy Act Amendment Bill, iatrodnced by the Hon A. Lee Smith, was considared in committee. The measure met with hostile criticism from the Hons G. M'Lean m R. Oliver, the latter holding that it was a direct incentive to farmers not to keep a record of their transactions. Several motions to report progress were negatived, and eventually it was decided that shuepxarmers and goidminers should not be expected to keep such full books of account as traders. Further discussion then was adjourned, leave being given to sit again. ~ ONEHTTNGA CEMETEBY. The Hon W. T. Jennings moved the second : leading ef the Onehunga Cemetery Bill.
