Mr Reid, the Premier, delivered a speech on the federation question to-night in the Town Hall before an audience numbering six thousand. He said that while there was much in the Bill that he could not approve, he would not turn traitor to federation. Braddon addressed a large meeting, strongly advocating the adoption of the Commonwealth Bill. Resolutions in favour of the measure were carried with enthusiasm.
