MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The ordinary meeting of the Socialist Church was held last night, when there was a very good attendance. The business of the evening was a paper summarising " Equality," Edward Bellamy's latest book. The establishment of State farms and industrial settlements and the municipal-' isation of local services were strongly advocated. It was decided that a paper on " Social System," by Mrs Blake, should be read next Thursday night. A resolution was carried that the Socialist Church should continue to hold meetings in the Square without a permit.
