FPer Press Assocmtioh.l • WELLINGTON, March 18. The following are the vital statistics for •February: — - j

The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 320, against 395 in January, a decrease of 75. The deaths in Febuary were 156, a decrease of 58 on the number in January. Of the total deaths, males contributed 89, and females 67. Fifty-eight of the deatha were of children under five years of age, being 37*18 per cent of the whole number ; 53 of these were under one year of age. There were 40 deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards. Five men, 67, 74, 75, 77, 78, and five women, 65, 68, 69, 83 (two), died at Auckland; six men, 66, 68, 76, 79, 82, 86, and seven women, 68, 69, 77, 78, 83, 91, 97, at Weilington; three men, 70, 78, 88, and five women, 66, 75, 77, 78, 87, at Christchurch ; and seven men, 65 (three), 70, 74, 77, 92, and two women, 67, 84, at Dunedin. The following are the statistics for some of the smaller boroughs : —
