THE ANNUAL MEETING. [Per Press Association.! OAMARU, March 18. The weather is again fine, but the wind is exceedingly tricky, though the light is good. The Grand Aggregate Match, 100 highest aggregates firing at 500, 600 and 700 yards, is proceeding, and the first two distances have been finished, Wilson (Woodville) putting on the possible at «500 yds. At 600 yds Boss (Napier) and T. Fxaser (Kaitangata) shot best, each getting on 31. M'Gregor (Oaraaru) and Boss are leading for the match. The wind is increasing, and there is likely to be a change at the longer distance. The aggregates at present are — M'Gregor 479, Robinson (ChristchurchJ 467, Ross 46ft, Steadman (Whangarei) 456, Rutherford (Kaitangata) 454, Wilson (Woodville) 453, Kichardson (Dunedin) 451. TMs match decides the final fifty who will- csmpetei for tbe championship to-morrow. Owing to the strong' wind the sl%of!iMg in the Grand Aggregate Match at 700 yds had to be stopped. Several of the targets 1 broke up. Many of the competitors ha* finisbedat this range, but it is not vtwlikely that the Council will decide tftatf the range shall be shot over again. The Queen's Rifles (Oamaun) take firstr prize in the Champion Teams- Match, witfe 1865. The error occurred tftrough the* sheets not being correct. The Council decided to fire tihe 700 yds of the Grand Aggregate Match over I again. j The start with the 200 yds of the Voluni teer Match begins this afternoon, but it is ! blowing great guns, and it is doubtful if | even the small targets will stand. The j canteen marcjnee was blown down at one I o'clock. ' The highest aggregates at present are : — ! M'Gregor 470, Robinson 467, Ross 466, | Steadman 456, Rutherford (Kaitangata) 454, Wilson (Woodville) 453, Richardson '((Dunedin) 451, Harding (Blenheim) 447, Simpson 446, M*Kay (Christchurch), Donnigan (Gore) and Kruse (Wanganui) 445 V -■■-■. ■ ■• : ;- ••-■■■. ■• ' • -■ -.' - The- interference" of the elements will probably extend the meeting over Saturday; It is not likely that there will be any more shooting to-day, as the wind is increasing.
