[Pee Press Association.] NAPIER, March 16. Air a meeting of the F Battery of Artillery last night the following resolution was carried :— " That the battery under the present circumstances considers it unpatriotic to disband, and will therefore carry on as an infantry company, as ordered; that representation be made to the Defence Department that if a fresh battery of artillery be required the claims of- the F Battery should receive special consideration." The battery, which has been in. existence for thirty years, will in future be known as the Napier Guards.

The annual meeting of the Rangiora Rifles will be held at eight o'clock this ', avenmg, at the Drillshed, Rangiora. '
