EXPERIMENTAL STATIONS.
Mr Eitchie, the secretary of the Agricultural Department, is preparing a report for the Cabinet on the proposal to establish a general experimental station within a few miles of Auckland and a horticultural and fruit station in Whangarei. The great difficulty which he apprehends in reference to the former is that of cost, as very high prices are demanded for land in suitable localities.
