The Star. MONDAY, MARCH 14, 1898. UNION ROWING CLUB.

A meeting of the executive of this club was held on Friday evening; present — Messrs A. E. Craddock (chairman), W. G. Atack, F. A. Moore, D. Lee, A. Allan, J. b] Norris, F. D. Kesteven, G. H. Cooper, A. Nicholls and J. Wallace. The Treasurersubmitted a statement of accounts, which showed a substantial balance in band after payment of all accounts. The custodian, Mr J. Stinnear, was voted a bonus in recognition of the satisfactory manner in which he had carried out his duties durin°- the season. It was decided to hold the annual smoke concert and presenta- *}?? °*Prizes on APril 15, and. Messrs Allan, Craddook and Lee were appointed a sub-committee to carry out the arrangements. It was decided to order twenty sets of oars and sculls from E. Aylin*- and Sons, London, to arrive at the beginning of next season, Mr J. Gould, President having presented the Club with a very handsome silver cup, a hearty vote of thanks was aoccorded to him. It was resolved to hold the usual winter assembly oances, and Messrs Cooper, Craddock ancl Lee were deputed to conduct them The pnze list for the season having been passed and a large quantity of correspondence dealt with, the meeting closed.
