m [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 11. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association further correspondence was received from the Port Chalmers Rowing Club, with reference to. the case of M. Solomon, who the Appeal Council had decided was ineligible to row as a junior, and who had subsequently taken part in a race. It waß decided to inform the club that the committee was satisfied from letters received from the local officer that due notice was given to the club that Solomon was : not eligible to row. An explanation was received from the Port Chalmers Rowing .Club in regard to a statement that its junior crew had not tried to win a race at the Bluff regatta, as by so doing it would lose its junior status. It was decided that a copy of the club's explanation should be forwarded to the local officer, with a request that he should procure further evidence from the Regatta Committee and other persons. At a meeting of the 'Appeal Council it was decided that- Bonnor, a member of the Port Chalmers Rowing Club, who was stroke of the winning crew in a race for a money prize, between sailors and firemen, at a regatta on the occasion of the Waikare trip to the Sounds, had forfeited his amateur status, but that he should be recommended to apply for reinstatement at the next annual meeting of the Association.
