RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
TPeb Pbess Association.! OAMARU, March 11. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Rifle Association will open on Monday on the same range as was occupied in 1896. The arrangements are all completed, and the range, if anything, is m much better order than on the last occasion. The number of entries is not yet available, but is expected to be up to those of last year. The extreme north of the colony is very poorly represented, there being only a ' couple of competitors. Owing to pressure I of work, Colonel Webb, Dunedin, is unable j to attend, and Major Headland, Oamaru, j will be in charge of the camp. Thursday is expected to be the show day ! of the camp, when field firing, the ladies' i match, and the Lloyd-Lindsay competition ; will be decided. To-morrow week, should ' the weather hold good, the championship j will be fired. 1 •
