Bevan-Brown distributed the prizes, after which cheers wero given for the head-master and the prize-winners. The committee of the Richmond Amateur Swimming Club met in the schoolroom last evening. Mr George Milne wrote, resigning his position as handicapper, in favour of Messrs L, D. Armitage and A. E. Wilson. Mr Milne's resignation was received with regret. Mr JbJ. R. .Vickerman wrote, protesting against his son being disqualified iv the Ladies' Bracelet Handicap at the recent race meeting. After taking evidence, the committee unanimously decided to uphold the judges' decision. A protest, lodged against the winner of the VicePresident's! Handicap for starting before his time, was considered and upheld, the prizes being awarded to the next competitors, Messrs C. Hioms and J. E. Allen. Accounts for .322 in connection with, the recent race meeting were passed for payment, and the honorary Secretary reported that there would be 'a credit balance of .£6 over the meeting. The action of the captain in sending Mr A. B. Truscott to represent the club iv the 440 yds Championship at Wanganui was approved. It was decided to hold the lOOyds March Handicap in the baths on March 18, entries to close on Wednesday. The last race of the season, the Electric Dash Handicap, will be held on March 26, A two-lengths (32yds) handicap race was held in the Railway Amateur Swimming Club's bath last night, and resulted as follows :— First heat : Eavos, scr, 1 ; Cook, 2sec, 2 ; Harrison, 4sec, 3. Time — 22sec. Second heat: Jack, ssec, 1; Baillie, ssec, 2 ; Grover, scr, 3. First and second in each heat swam in final, which was a very close race. Time — 25|sec. Jack 1, Eaves 2, Baillie 3. Time 25sec. The committee of the Canterbury Amateur Swimming Club met yesterday afternoon and transacted business in connection with the annual race meeting to be held in Kent's tepid bath, Richmond, next Friday night. The Secretary reported that a large number of entries had been received for the various events, and that the race meeting promised to be a great success. Entries will finally close to-night. The water in the bath will be heated to eighty degrees for the races.
