RAILWAY ROLLING STOCK.

Great inconvenience has been caused at Lyttelton during the past week in consequence of the shortage of railway waggons. The steamer Rakanoa has had her discharging operations considerably retarded, and whenever the least rush takes place steamers are at a standstill. It is admitted on all sides that the representatives of the Department make the best possible use bf the stock at their disposal, and it would seem that the supply is altogether inadequate to cope with anything but the most ordinary day's work.
