MARKET REPORTS.
• THE OXFORD MARKET. The importance of the Oxford market has been added to by the erection of new yards by Messrs H. Matson and Co., where the firm intends to hold regular sales. The yards will accommodate about 4000 sheep, and connected with them is a sheep dip 60ft in length, built on Cooper's plan. The opening sale was held by the firm yesterday, Mr L. Matson being the auctioneer. The entry for the whole market, including that at Mr Ingram's yards, numbered between GOOO and 7000 sheep, and nearly every lot found ready sale at the following prices :— Best freezers up to lis lOd, medium do 9s to 10s 6d, fat lambs 8s to 9s, wethers fit for turnips from Bs. 6d to 9s 6d, backward wethers 6s to 7s 6d, store lambs 2s 6dto 7s, young breeding ewes 5s to 7s, sound-mouth backward condition do 4s to 5s 6d, merino ewes ls to 3s.
