[Per Press Association.! .--•l TIMARU, March 10. At the meeting of the Tourists' Cycling Club last night, to discuss the transfer from the Alliance to the League, there was a lively discussion. A majority was for the League, but the ballot was declared informal, and a fresh ballot will be taken next Wednesday. .At Lancaster Park last night J Grant, of the Pioneer Bicycle Club, broke the amateur record for half a mile, lmin 3§ses, held by J. W. Jones. Paced by a Zealandia quad., of which T. Oates was the steersman, he covered the distance in lmin 3sec. The cash record for the distance is 60isec, and is held by Mr E. A. Wall. •
