ELLESMERE PRESBYTERIAN CHARGE.

w The annual congregational meetings in connection with this charge — Leeston, Brookside and Dunsandel (Eev W. Grant) — have now been held. The reports and balance-sheets are eminently satisfactory. Twenty-four members have been added to the roll during the year. The Sabbath Schools are prosperous and well officered. The session report notes with satisfaction the work done by the Sabbath schools, Christian Endeavour Societies and Bands of Hope, and also the work done by the i choirs to brighten and make effective the i services. It speaks with warm appreciai tion of the special services conducted by '. the Eev Dr Erwin at Dunsandel and the i Eev J. M. Simpson at Leeston, and makes L sympathetic reference to the heavy losses i sustained by the congregation through death. The total income from all i sources was .6657, but this includes l a sum of -3100 whioh the Brookside r Ladies' Association has in hand for build- , ing a schoolroom. A sum of .£96 was con- > tributed by the congregations for outside s purposes, including _G6B for home and 3 foreign missions, and £17 to the Indian • Famine Eelief Fund. Outstanding seat r rents lessen the Leeston credit balance by 3 .£ll for the year. It was decided to have L evening service at Leeston on the third 3 Sunday of the month only, when Mr Grant will be free to conduct the service himself. The Leeston collections were £5 better. The Eev W. Grant, the minister, was warmly congratulated on the success of the year. I HaA nnlrl ? Bon i -a-m -in fin-m crnnri ns P*old !
