FOOTBALL.
♦ The Committee of the Linwood Foot- j ball Club met at the rooms last night, in order to make final arrangements for the annual meeting, which will take place on Friday next. The rooms are now undergoing a complete renovation, and I everything should be very comfortable for the opening night. A number of defaulters' names have been sent to the club's solicitor, as the committee is determined to protect itself under the Registratien of Unclassified Societies Act. The Klondyke Party.— Messrs Hiskens Rodger, Cropp and Sinclair, who have determined to try their fortune on the Klondyke goldfields, were to leave Lyttelton to-day to catch the Miowera for Vancouver. A Dangerous Practice. - Complaints have been made of the practice of bovs throwing road metal into the chestnut trees on the North Belt to bring down th« chestnuts. The stones, are thrown utterlv regardless of the danger to pefcons who may be passing, and an accident will probably result if steps are not tak«n tn put a stop to the practice. ' t0
