MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The executive officers of No. 2 Purple Star Orange Lodge held a meeting on Monday evening, to consider the best means of showing the Lodge's respect to a brother who is leaving the district. As the Orange Hall was not available for Thursday evening, the Druid's Hall has been sefiured, and the Secretary was instructed to advertise and invite the members of the Order to attend at eight o'clock on that evening. An entertainment, under the auspices of the St Albans Methodist Band of Hope, was given on Friday evening by friends of the Selwyn Street South Musical Party;' conductor, the Rev A. B. Chappell. Tho programme consisted of instrumental- solos, songs, trios, quartettes, glees, choruses and recitations, which t\ ere well received by an appreciative audience. The entertainment closed with the National Anthem.
