HEAVY DAMAGES. [Per Press Association.! STRATFORD, March 8. A case which has occupied the Magistrate's Court for three days, and excited considerable interest, was brought to a conclusion to-day. One Amos sued three brothers named Montgomery for .£75 special and .£2OO general damages for assault. He was engaged to Miss Amos, and the brothers tried to break off the marriage. On Christmas Day .they gave him a severe thrashing from which he had not recovered yet. Judgment was given for plaintiff for .£52 13s special and .£IOO general damages, with ,£lB 12s costs.
