A Serious Charge.— Samuel Wright, a steward, was charged with attempting to commit a criminal assault upon a child aged nve years and eleven months. He was defended by Mr Joyce. The evidence of the girl was taken. Dr Pairman said he was not ready to produce his evidence/and the case was adjourned till Tuesday next, bail being refused.
