In a great storm at Memel, on the shore of the Baltic, a number pf usning vessels were driven Ashore, and ten fishermen were downed. [Per Press Association j AUCKLAND, March 5. A Maori chief named Vt'haka Te Hoka, belonging to the Ngapuhi tribe, was accidentally drowned in a little creek near Keukohe, Bay of Islands. The body was discovered by his daughter when she went to the creek to wash.
