At the inquest on Mrs Glover, her busband stated that the cause of her act was an apology which the Superintendent of Police asked his wife to sign, which she knew was an untruth. Glover made serious charges against the Superintendent. It is supposed that Mrs Glover drugged her children before killing them. Received March 5, 10.45 a.m. VICTORIAN LOANS. MELBOURNE, March 5. Sir George Turner states that there must be some misunderstanding in London with reference to the alleged conversion of a Victorian loan. He has not given the Agent-General instructions to arrange for the specific conversion of any part of the colony's debt. The only form in which the matter has been dealt with was that he had instructed Sir Andrew Clarke to prepare a Bill relating generally to the conversion of loans, so that in future they could take advantage of a favourable market.
