CHRISTCHURCH.
The adjourned meeting of the Christchurch Licensing Committee was held on Saturday morning; present — Messrs R. Beetham, S.M. (chairman), J. C. Maddison, W. S. Langdown, E. Smith and T. Gapes. The police report stated that certain repairs were needed to the Carlton Hotdl. The licensee was instructed to attend to these. The repoit also stated that the Occidental Hotel needed repairs in the servants' quarters. Mr Russell, who ap- j peared for the trustees, said that they would attend to the matter. The following transfers were approved: — Cafe de Paris from F. K. Beauehamp to O. G. Bradley, Foresters' Hotel from. G W. BeaUohamp to D. Ashton, Waltham Hotel from J. Morkane to Thomas Birch, Al Hotel from J. W. Collier to John Carl, Koyal Hotel from J. Morgan to J. Moffett, and Occidental (temporary transfer) from C. Burton to H. Fleming. A permit was granted to Emma Agnes Toomei*, widow of the late proprietor of the Star and Garter Hotel, to carry on the business of that hotel till the June meeting.
