PICNICS.

A meeting of representatives of the cycle trade was held last evening at the Empire Hotel, for the purpose of considering the question of holding a picnic at an early date. There was a good attendance, iind Mr C. Myhre occupied the chair. After discussion it was decided to hold a picnic on Thursday, March 17, the destination to be decided upon by the committee. Mr J. Burns was appointed secretary and Mr Ranger assistant secretary. Messrs Myhre, E. James, G. Denby, A. Wildey and Ball were elected a committee to carry out arrangements. The Secretary was instructed to ascertain whether the use of the Eangiora Domain could be obtained for the day.
