FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
The sixth annual meeting of the New Zealand Friendly Societies' Interchange of Medical Benefits Association, was held at the Oddfellows' Hall, Lichfield Street, on Thursday evening, when Bro A. Palmer presided, and delegates representing upwards of twenty branches were present. The committee's report and balance-sheet were read by the Chairman, who also briefly reviewed the work of the year. The principal subjects dealt with had been the old age pension scheme of Bro H. L. Eogers, Resolution Division, Eangiora,and correspondence from the Wellington Friendly Societies' Vigilance Committee on the subject of better supervision of matters affecting friendly societies introduced into the House, and to bring the office of the Registrar of Friendly Societies more into touch ' the requirements of the societies. The balance-sheet, audited by Bros C. Foster and C. H. Winny, showed the total receipts, including £10 11s 3d nalance from last year, to have been T-i i *" ' and expenditure : .£l3 9s, winch left a balance of £10 5s 3d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows : -•Bros A Palmer and J.
