NEW ZEALAND ROWING ASSOCIATION. TPer "Press Association.! ■"•WELLINGTON, Jan. 7. A special general meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association was held to-night. A motion by the Awarua Boating Club, Bluff, that maiden fouroared races should be rowed in-inrigged boats, instead of outrigged, was lost on tht voices. The Horowlienua and IS garuawahia rowing clubs were admitted to membership. It was decided "that the resolution passed at the half-yearly meeting at Picton relating to the championship regatta being held not later than March 17 in each year be rescinded." A motion " that the championship regatta be held not latei than March 31 in each year," wa3 withdrawn in order to leave a free hand in the selection of a date for future championship regattas, An application by the Port Chalmers Rowing Club for reinstatement as amateurs of Messrs James and George Holden, was deferred till next annual meeting of the Association. It was decided to ask the local officer of the Association at Invercargill to report upon the alleged wilful failure of the Port Chalmers Club's junioi crew to win the Senior Fours at the Blufl regatta for the reason that they would thereby lose their junior status andbecom-s seniors.
