Jsinety-five per cent of the engineera rejected the proposals made by the employers at the recent conference. 1 The cotton spinners have decided to lend the sum of £1000 to the engineers and contribute a levy of sixpence per man per week. Colonel Dyer, president of the Employers' Federation, declares that the Socialists caused the whole dispute, and that the Employers' Federation were the kindest friends the workmen ever had.
