MEETING OF LADIES.
A meeting of the Ladies' Committee in connection with the Floral Fote, to be held on Anniversary Day, was held in the City Council Library at 3 p.m. yesterday ; ■n^sent— Mesdames W. H. Cooper, C. tmfrton A - Marshall, T. Gordon, H. O. T>. Meares, S. Anstey, A. H Hancock, H. D. Pine, Batten, Baker F** F - c - East ' Misses Smith and Hint oa. H^s^ame? M^or presided, and suggested that Jflß C o mra ittee should elect a lady to per"nianently preside, and also appoint, say, three, ladies to represent them on the executive. One way in which the ladies could assist in the fete was by acting as judges. It had also been suggested that they should help by selling tickets. On tho motion of Mrs Pine, seconded by Mrs Hancock, Mrs T. Gordon was elected to preside over the committee. Mesdames C.Louisson, Hancock and Marshall were appointed, with Mr 3 Gordon, to represent the Ladies' Committee on the executive. It was decided. to hold a meeting at 4 p.m. on Monday next to receive the report of the representatives on the executive. The meeting then closed.
