Zealand be^an yesterday in the -hall of Canterbury College, under the supervision of Mr S. D. Barker. There are altogether 124 candidates, 53 of whom are ladies. Six of the candidates, including one lady, are sitting for tho medical preliminary examination. There is one candidate for the Bachelor of Music examination, ten for junior scholarships, a-d 107 for matriculation. The examinations will conclude on Dec. 15.
