LAND BOARD.

The Canterbury Land Board met yesterday; present— Messrs S. Weetman (Commissioner of Crown Lands), D. M'Millan, A. C. Pringle, J. M'Lachlan and E. Meredith, M.H.R. D. Rutherford, JJ2S; E.S. 3622 C, Hunter's Hills, Edward Elworthy, =623 11s 9d; R.S. 36389 and 36390, Station Peak, New Zealand and Australian Land Company, .£l6O. An application was received from Messrs Lougbrey and Lane, on behalf cf the adjoining owners, to purchase the Tramway Eeserve through E.S.s 13956, 10057 and 7355, near Lake JEllesmere, and it was decided to recommend the Head Office to take steps to have the land discharged from reservation with a view to sale. Mrs M. Squire applied to have some freehold land adjacent to 8.5., 36227, Hunter's Hills, j purchased for addition to her holding, but | the Board did not see its way to recomI mend the Land Purchase Board to ■ acquire the laiid.
