ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

At two o'clock this morning a girl named Walshman died unexpectedly at Southbrook. The girl, who is an orphan, was in domestic service with Mr Thirlow, bootmaker, Kaiapoi. Yesterday she was taken ill with vomiting, and obtained some medicine. In the evening she was taken to her uncle's place at Southbrook, and during the night became worse. Dr Baber was sent for, but before he arrived the girl was dead. The police were informed of the occurrence, and an inquest will be held.
