In the House of Commons, bitCharles Tupper declared that the discriminating clause of the new Tariff Bill was illegal. Tho Canadian newspapers and public warmly approve the Bill. • LONDON, April 28. , In the House of Commons, Mr Chamberlain stated that the Government cordially appreciated Canada's friendly spirit in giving preference to English products. Belgium has protested against the discriminatory character of the Bill as being opposed to the commercial treaty between Great Britain and Belgium.
