THE BRUNNER DISASTER.
CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. [Per Press Association.] HOKITIKA, April 3. At the Supreme Court this morning the evidence for the defence in tho Brunner cisc was continued. John Green, manager of the Coalbrookdale mine, stated that during the time lie had been employed in the Brunner mine he had never found it necessary to remove coal dust, nor had he seen it removed as a precaution. He did not consider the mine a dry and dusty one, nor would he anticipate danger of a blow-out shot causing a coal-dust explosion. The evidence of Russell and Rolleston, two of the four men employed by the miners to inspect the mine after the disaster, was' given, but nothing was elicited further than what has already been stated in evidence. Enoch Hai-tshorne was being examined at the luncheon adjournment. The case cannot possibly conclude until Monday or Tuesday.
