WOMEN'S SOCIAL AND POLITICAL LEAGUE.
■ The usual weekly meeting of the Women's Social and Political League was held on Monday evening at Hobbs's Assembly Rooms. There was an excellent attendance. It was unanimously decided to subscribe to Mr Eli's Directory of Liberal and Labour Associations. The members reported a most satisfactory sale of tickets of admission to the forthcoming "social," and it was resolved to advance the preparations as far as possible pending an expected communication from the President cf the League. .A discussion upon the advisableness of educating girls preparatory to their possession of the franchise ensued, and it was unanimously decided to communicate with the Central League of Wellington, recommending the admission of girls not under eighteen years to membership of the League. At tho request of numerous members of the League who are strongly opposed to the practice of vaccination, it was decided to hold a public meeting at Hobbs's Buildings at eight o'clock on Monday next, when an article by Mr Alfred Milnes, M.A., of England/; entitled " Vaccination an Error, its' Compulsion a Wrong," will be read and discussed. The Vice-President was instructed to advertise the meeting, in the hope of inducing all mothers to attend. A treasurer was elected. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Central (Wellington) League regarding badges to be worn by the members on the occasion of public functions.
