KAIAPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The fortnightly meeting of the Kaiapoi Borough Council -was held last evening ; present — Councillors Clarlc, Hopkins, Feldwick, Drabble, Simpson, Fraser, Blakely, Bugs:, and Mathews. In the absence of the Mayor, Councillor Feldwick took the chair. Correspondence was received :— From the Inspector of Police regarding instructing the police in charge to assist in licensing hawkers and pedlars. The Finance Committee reported : — Keceipts .£216 19s 2d, debit balance .£<4l9 18s 9d, and recommended accounts amounting to ,£2B 16s 9d for payment. The report was adopted. Councillor Simpson drew attention to the frequency of horses straying in the Domain. It was resolved that the Banger should receive oiio month's notice to terminate his engagement. Councillor Blakely drew attention to the depositing of rubbish, &c, on Darnley Square, and the clerk was instructed to attend to the matter. The Council then sat as the Domain Board and transacted unimportant business.
