Picnics.— The annual picnic of the employes at the Islington Freezing Works will be held on Saturday, at Ashburton. The Engineers' Brass Band has been engaged for the occasion, and tickets may bo obtained from any of the committee, some of whom will be in attendance at the Christchurch station on the departure of the train at 7.30 a.m.— At a meeting of butchers held last night, it was decided to hold the annual picnic at the Eiccarton racecourse on Thursday.
