AMBERLEY. In consequence of the late rains and the. rapid growth of grass, the sheep market at Amberley yesterday was one of the liveliest that has taken place in the township for, probably, the past three or four years. The entry numbered between 11,000 and 12,000, and nearly every lot was cleared at decided advances on late quotations, there being keen competition between the buyers, who were present force. • Sales were as follow :— 6OO fullmouthed half-bred ewes Bs, 400 do 7s lid, 757 do 7s 9d, 150 three-quarter-bred ewes 8s 4d, 300 do 8s 2d, and 1200 at Bs, 86 old cross-bred ewes 4s 2d, 533 full-mouthed cross-bred ewes 6s lOd, 225 two, four and six-tooth wethers 8s 6d, 98 full-mouthed cross-bred ewes 7s 7d, 195 cross-bred lambs 7s 2d, 140 four, six' and eight-tooth ewes 8s Id, 284 two-tooth ewes 9s 2d, boilers Is to Is 6d, full-mouthed half-bred ewes 7s 7d to 7s Sd, six-tooth and full-mouthed ewes off the tussock 7s 7d, lambs 7s to 7s 2d, old cross-bred ewes 4s to 4s 7d, merino ewes 2s to 2s 6d, boilers Is to Is 3d.
