Sydenham v. High School. — The former has, so far, the better of this game, scoring 115 (E. C. J. Stevens 25, W. B. Stevens 20, Wright 15 and Barker 14) against 42 (Mason 12 and O'Brien 11). In the second innings Sydenham has lost eight wickets for 82 runs (W. B. Stephens 25 not out, Hadfield 15 and Barker 11). O'Brien and W. B. Stephen's bowled best for their respective sides, the latter finishing up with eight wickets for 16 runs. Midland v. St Albans. — This match was commenced at Hagley Park on Saturday, and when play ceased the scores were : — St Albans 105 (Taylor 23, Chapman 22, J. Smith 18, Hardie 13 and Ritchie 10) ; Midland 198 (White 50, R. Smith 40, Sykes 27, Johnston 23 and Treloar 16). Johnston bowled well for Midland, while the Colville brothers did best for the suburban club.
