LANCASTER PARK ELEVEN v. SYDENHAM AND ADDINGTON UNITED THIRTEEN.

This game was played at Lancaster Park upon a rather slow wicket, and was remarkable for good bowling and fielding by each side. The suburbans batted first, but with the exception of Malloch, Savage and J. Lafferty, but little headway could be made. Bates, who started the bowling, strained his side just when he had warmed up to his work, and was forced to haud the ball over to Hasell. The latter, however, proved more than an efficient substitute. Malloeh played a very neat innings, and Savage and Lafferty were painstaking to a degree. The Park men fared, if anything, worse than their opponents. The fielding of the Addington team was keen and alert and the bowling much above the average, so much so that eight wickets had fallen for 54 runs at the call of time, 128 runs only being scored during the whole afternoon's play. Wilding batted well for his total, C. Eidley played another of his skilful innings as far as 14, whilst Orchard hit up doubles very quickly. Scores: — SYDENHAM AND ADDINGTON UNITED THIRTEEN.
