RICCARTON LIBERAL ASSOCIATION.
*+ A meeting of Biccarton electors was held in the Temperance Hall, Gloucester Street, on Saturday night, for tho purpose* of organising a Liberal Association for Riccarton. Mr G. S. Eoss occupied the chair, and Mr S. G. M'Donald was appointed secretary pro tern. A letter was read from Mr H. G. Ell, asking for the name and address of the President and Secretary, in order that they might be inserted in the Liberal and Labour Directory, which is being published under the auspices of the Progressive Liberal Association, also for a donation towards the cost of printing and publishing the same. It was decided to hold the letter over until next meeting. An animated discussion took place as to the best means of organising the Liberals in the electorate. It was ultimately decided that Messrs M'Donald and Ford should act as organisers for Papanui, Mr Eoss for Addington, Mr SI I and Mr Fleet for Halswell, and that organisers should be secured for the other centres of population in the electorate. It was decided to admit both men and women to membership, the annual subscription for the former to be 2s 6d and the latter Is.
