FIRES.
[Per Press Association.] BRISBANE, Jan. 4. A -fire at Mount Morgan completely gutted a large business block. The damage is estimated at =£15,000. AUCKLAND, Jan. 4. During the past few days destructive bush fires have been raging in the Kakaka Block, in the vicinity of the Success mine, Coromandel. A number of miners' whares, the occupants of which were away, were, together with their contents, totally destroyed. The Success battery had a narrow escape. . , . ■ The building belonging to Mr H. Boyd, practically destroyed by fire at Eangiora, on Sunday morning,, was insured in the Phoenix Office for .£3O. It was. valued at about -245.
