The rebels lost, very heavily during the fight. Jan. 4. 7, Later details show- that the Spanish, f oirces/attacked •■ three thousand insjirgentß:7massed<Bt- Bullacani a town j.evrate<in: miles north.- west of VManiia. Eleven hundred of the .insurgents were killed, while the Spanish lot-sea amount to twenty-three killed. Prisoners who fell into the hands of the Spanish confessed that the rebels had procured their arms from Japan They also stated that Japan had promised to recognise the revolutidn if the whole of the Philippines would join the revolt against the Spaniard..
