QUEENSLAND v. HAWKE'S BAY.
QUEENSLAND NAPIER, Jan. 1. The Queensland-Hawke's Bay cricket match was continued at. the Recreation' Ground to-day. The weather was fine, and there was a good attendance. . Jones ancl Donahoo, the two not outs of the previous day, resumed their places at .the wickets. With the score at 60, Donahoo fell a victim to tho fifth ball of Rees' first over, having added only 1 run to his yesterday's total. Jones and McGlinchy then puzzled all the local bowlers and gave the field some merry work, Jones not being dismissed until he had compiled 85, while M'Glinchy, after he had made 47, sent one into Lusk's hands off Rees, the Hawke's Bay total in the first inningsbeing exceeded with only two wickets down. M'Donald and Hoare added rapidly to the score. The latter was caught by Staite after making 17. Cowley and M'Donald got together, and some lively hitting was witnessed. These two exhausted all the bowling, 386 being brought up without a separation having been effected, when stumps were drawn. The following are the scores: — hawke's bay. I'irst Innings.
