VICTORIA V. SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
MELBOURNE, Jan. 1. Tho cricket match Victoria v. South Australia was commenced to-day, under favourable auspices as regards weather. A perfect wicket had been prepared. The local men won the toss and batted. When stumps were drawn they had lost nine wickets for 335. The principal scores were : — M'Leod 32, H. Trott 45, Layer 27, Roche '20, O'Halloran not out 117, Johns not out 50.
